Zhu Jia

A pioneer of video art in China, Zhu Jia’s videos and photographs often feature ordinary activities of everyday life in unconventional ways. For example, in Never Taking Off, a Boeing airplane cruises on the tarmac in an endless loop. The artist graduated from the oil painting department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1988 and began experimenting with video in the 1990s.
