Patty Chang
born 1972, in San Leandro, California, United States; lives and works in Los Angeles, California, United States
Patty Chang first gained attention for her endurance-based performances in the late 1990s. Since then, she has continued to explore the boundaries between physical and psychological comfort and discomfort through performance, video, and installation. Chang earned a BA from the University of California, San Diego in 1994 and currently teaches at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
