Motohiko Odani
born 1972, in Kyoto, Japan; lives and works in Tokyo, Japan
Motohiko Odani’s multidisciplinary practice studies the relationship between humankind and nature through the lens of bioengineering technology and the exploration of primal sensations such as desire, fear, and pain. A main theme underlying his sculpture, photography, and video work is the mutation of humans and animals. Odani earned a BA in 1995 and an MFA in 1997 from Tokyo National University of Art and Music.
