Minouk Lim
born 1968, in Daejeon, South Korea; lives and works in Seoul, South Korea
Minouk Lim’s practice centers on the cultural effects of democratization and industrialization in South Korea and the resulting marginalization of a strata of society excluded from the country’s rise in the global economy in the twenty-first century. Her projects encompass the disciplines of performance, installation, video, music, and writing to draw attention to this disjunction. Lim earned a Félicitation DNSAP from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, France in 1994.
