Mami Kosemura
born 1975, in Kanagawa, Japan; lives and works in Tokyo, Japan
Mami Kosemura uses new-media techniques to reinterpret traditional painting practices. She has created a number of video works in which she examines various methods and styles of artistic production in the history of art from across the world. Kosemura earned a PhD in painting from the Tokyo University of the Arts and Music in 2005.
