Makoto Aida

Makoto Aida moved to Tokyo to study painting at the Tokyo National University of the Arts and Music, earning a BFA in 1989 and an MFA in 1991. He is known for his provocative paintings, sculptures, videos, and installations that explore psychologically charged subject matter most often relating to sex, violence, war, and politics.
